Default No ground wire from tranny to frame = no start?

Heres the story.

I bought an EG shell, so of course im missing a few little things. Anyways , i got an engine in and everything hooked up etc. and I noticed I dont have this thick ground wire that goes from the top of the tranny to the frame ( passanger side). When i try to start the car i hear the starter click once. Is NOT having this ground wire causing this???

Just take some 4 gauge speaker wire and try to see if it works.

just strip the end off wrap it around the screw or nut on both sides

if thats the problem go buy some connectors rings and you be set

I don't think it would cause you car to not start.

My ground was boken and my car was running fine.
but I did replace that wire with 4 Gauge Speaker wire.

I had a swap and they did not put the ground wire near the value cover. Once the ground on the trans started to loose contact I had starting problems. Just put a wire on there like everyone said.

I've also ran into this problem. I was helping a guy finish his swap. He went to crank it over and it only clicked. After making sure the battery was fully charged, I noticed he had niether the valve cover ground or the tranny ground hooked up.

He must have thrown the ground wire away, so I just jimmy rigged a couple grounds by taking 4 peices of 14guage wire, stripping the ends, twisting them together, and then bolting them down.

It worked fine and the car started right up.
