99 Si Alternator Problems
After installing my wideband o2 yesterday, me speedometer stoped working. I checked my speed with the AVCR and it was also at zero. So I figured there was a bad connection somewhere. This morning it started fine and while driving to work it stalled in traffic. After jumping it I drove for 10 minutes, but now my rpm guage was at zero as well and it stalled again. Completely dead. I try starting it and hear the loud clicking noise from the alternator. I have an Interstate battery that is only 2 monthes old. Do any of these symptoms sound of a bad alternator to any of you?
What else could be wrong? I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the o2. My alternator only has 53,000 on it.

Re: 99 Si Alternator Problems (TurbodCX)
Are you sure the O2 is wired properly? When I put my A/F meter in the first time, I accidentally tapped the O2 heater circuit instead of the signal wire, and I thought it fried the gauge cos it went dead, but then I noticed my speedo wasn't working and my headlight began to dim A LOT and my alternator wasn't charging. After swapping alt's and batteries it still wasn't charging. Turns out it was my VSS/ALT fuse under the dash. Just something to consider...

Re: 99 Si Alternator Problems (turbo Si)
you have to have the o2 sensor unplugged to force the car into open loop unless
you have the wide band doing translation so the ecu is gettting the proper voltage.
Else the car will not run properly
