Default Nitrous and Propane

Anyone do this?..

What I am talking about is running Propane as the fuel and running the regular Nitrous through a wet kit..

Does this work and has anyone had any experience with it?...

Ive never done it but I hear great things about it. Unfortuneatly there arent many resources as far as that setup, but there are a few people that do it on here. The setup is alittle more complicated that you would think, essentially you need what a propane kit provides along with the nitrous kit, so it probably isn't cheap.

If you can find a way to meter the Propane as it enters the intake manifold you'd be set. Unfortunately, gaseous propane won't work through regular fuel injectors with the same results as gasoline.

Running propane in combination with gasoline has long been a method of allowing more boost or timing while avoiding detonation. In that instance you can just run a single fogger nozzle in the intake tube or you could multi-port it like nitrous if you wanted to get serious. Turbo diesel trucks do it all the time.

I have the Wet kit right now.. So what your telling me its not as easy as getting a propane tank.. Tapping it and running it into the Fuel Silonoid on the fuel side of the Nozzle?..

No, you need to run a propane regulator, and one more thing I think, I can't remember what it is though.

i think ive seen propane kits for like $300, you could probably get every thing you need from that, as long as you figure out what size jet for the propane, to run with whatever nitrous shot your spraying (maintain proper af etc)

looks like this could be done then.. I would probablly start off with a small shot on the dyno and work it out off that baseline.. But has anyone on here done this.. I may do it to the B16 for right now to test it out.. But I really don't want to blow the new motor trying this out..

in order to do this you have to have liquid propane. all the kits you see here are dry flow. they are just anti-detonation kits. liquid propane is not as user-friendly as gaseous propane. you have to have another tank, nitrogen feed, that displaces the propane. even then the flow rate can change; it doesnt work as well as gas. i looked into the same thing a while back and this is what an authority told me. despite all the people that say it wont work, im still gonna try the dry flow propane on top of the wet nx kit. surely the thing will run a little rich, but one can always lean out their setup a hair. imho that its best use is on a turbo car with a dry flow kit. if you find any useful information on making liquid propane work as a fuel for nitrous, post it here, please. goodluck!
