WOW! 3 pages and counting on my manifold. Sweet.

For those who flamed the manifold, thanks for the constructive critisizm. The welder of the manifold is very well aware the welds suck ***. Does the manifold have leaks? sure doesnt.

Was the manifold cheap to make? Considerably cheaper than some manifolds on the market.

Does the manifold work? SURE DOES!

Can I still use my a/c? HECK YA!

So the manifolds are ugly? Wow... are we in a beauty pageant?
Coming from a girl... you oughta be ashamed. Not even I care what something on my car looks like. As a buddy on here said fucntion> form.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Again, for the ignorant... $400 for many more parts other than just the manifold.

heh sweet

too bad hes making me another one, since this one was the first manifold that style hes made... so obviously welds will be better not that... you know... theres any excuse for making something less than perfect the FIRST time around.

I agree with the function&gt;form but there is nothing wrong with a clean engine bay and nice looking parts in it. I could care less what my car looks like on the outside, I've washed it once since I have bought it, but the engine bay and the parts in it is a different story. What the **** does it matter that you are a girl and your manifold looks like ***?

You know, Im not saying Im all for ugly looking things. In this instance, ugly looking welds on my manifold. However, when a bunch of people make such harsh comments its only natural to defend yourself. Anyone in my shoes would do the same thing I bet.

Keep in mind, the paint we put on the manifold has burned and chipped off.
When he made this manifold, he used a arc welder that he used for at most 2 minutes prior to making the manifold. (Usually he uses a mig)
Also, because it was the first time he made it, he welded everything while it was tacked instead of taking each runner off and welding them seperately.

Another example of this... pls refer to this thread posted in the welding forum by Turbo-Charged. He used the same method as a novice
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1066745

Had we posted the pics in there, and told everyone what I just said... we wouldnt have gotten flamed.
But since it wasnt, rather posted by some newbie everyone ragged on it. thanks

Why dont we start a poll for ugliest manifold? Ill nominate mine... hell, Ill even start it!

i was there during some of the process. i don't think he (the one that made it) should get flamed b/c really.. why don't you all go try and make one... lets see what it comes out like... no one ever said welding is easy... and money was being saved. sorry, they don't have 'wealth' as some of you do to go and pay $788970 for a ******* manifold. and it works.. so what gives? why don't you all **** off. </TD></TR></TABLE>

haha, get real. why dont we all go try and make one? umm, the whole point of buying one from a company is for the oh so "unfortunate" ones that dont know or dont have the skills/needed tools to attempt to make one.

no one ever said welding was easy, youre right. but no one ever said that every reply on an open forum has to be nice too.... especially when the original posted picture of that manifold is obviously his/her first try. repsect has been given for attempting to make one, but honestly, would you feel safe and comfortable with something like that under your hood, especially something so vital and important in a turbo setup?

if we all went and fucked off, who would be left here to comment on such a horrid website thats full of people who think youre not cool unless youve spent $$$ on a turbo setup?

Skills? I believe it does take skill to cut the collector. Tools? What b/c we dont have a tig? We cant afford a tig. Or a robotic welder like full race.

It is our choice to make one. Does full race make a manifold for my car? Thank you.

Why not? The design* is proven to flow good. So its not perfect... ok?

Im not asking you to put this under your hood... I chose to put it under mine. Whats the problem?

The problem is when people flame other people for trying to do things on their own. And like so many people have mentioned before dont jump on the wagons.

you missed my point on the "having the tools needed" part. i was refering to people such as the average joe, not companies that have the welders/robots to make manifolds.

as far as The DESIGN... um last time i checked, many companies, ESPECIALLY FULL-RACE, have put alot of R&D into there products and have produced the numbers they have for a reason. Did you call up or email full-race and ask for there specs on the ram-style turbo manifold (even if they aren't the original inventors of that design)? just because you bought a bunch of Schedule 40s from Mcmaster and buger-welded them together, doesnt mean it has "good flow". Companies like Full-Race, have spent thousands of dollars to make there manifolds perform like they do and have the rep. that they do.

i have no problem with you putting that manifold under your hood. i think the problem you seem to have is that when people come in here, on an open thread, and comment on something that was posted for us to see and give there opinions. dont like the comments/feedback people give? DONT READ IT.

theres no bandwagons going on here, so you can just toss that bullshit assumption out the window. if you think people are just jumping on the "full-race Pay-to-Play" bandwagon, then you're sorrily mistaken. I think the whole bandwagon thing is for insecure people who cant take critisizm and get pissed off... my .02

no argueing or bashing here, just a simple mature debate

Fair enough. you have your points, as do I.

Im fully aware of the fact that full race manifolds are going to be better. They are professionally done. No argument there.

As far as the band wagon thing I commented on, I believe you are the one who is sorrily mistaken. "there are no band wagons going on here" Take a look around... You dont speak for everyone in the claims you make. Nor do I. I dont claim to either.

Do you think im arguing with people that have their opinions? They, including you and I have every right to say whatever we wish to say. However, as I stated before... I was simply defending myself and my manifold. I am not insecure, and its not that I cant take critisizm. I think I clearly stated above thank you for the critisizm. If not, it mustve been edited by me... either way there it is. I'd like to see you in a similar situation as I. Simply stating the facts. People like to rag on things they dont really know about... so I gave reasons as to why the manifold is so damn ugly.

No arguing or bashing here... just a mature debate

I'm willing to bed a sizeable amount of cash that if you took a built engine big turbo blahblabhalbhabl tuned etc etc w/ a full-rippoff manifold dyno tunded; then turned around swapped on her manifold and re dyno'd it without changing anything but the manifold the numbers would be very very close.

Feel free to disprove me; if you do you have a bigger e-***** than i do and should be applauded.

and i'm not knocking the sc61; its a decent turbo; WAY too big for what most people use it for but its their money not mine. That just seems to be the h-t trend turbo
