next build choice....
I have a built ls.
81.5 wisecos
Eagle rods
Jg303 cams
Supertech valvetrain
Skunk2 IM
Omni 68 tb
Hx35 turbo and supporting mods
I will be tuning here soon as it has been a two year build for me but I'm already looking at my next mod to up my power.
Would you guys go with a somewhat built vtec head?
Or sleeve my block?
I'd hate to throw away my built head and everything that's put on it. I'm not getting rid of my ls head yet cause I wanna see what power I make with it and be a little different, ya know? I may be flammed for asking this evem though I haven't been tuned but I'm always looking ahead. And I understand building my ls head might be a waste but ya live and ya learn.

Re: next build choice....
If you are torn between building a VTEC head and sleeving the block, but want to keep the LS head just to be different (and partially because you feel as if you will be throwing it away) sounds ridiculous.
I admire individualism, but this scenario is alot like a workplace scenario.
EG; A co-worker(VTEC HEAD) comes up to you (LS HEAD) and says; "Hey I have some training tips that may help you work more efficiently and accomplish more with less time and effort". You say; "No thanks, I don't mind overworking and putting in late nights for the same goal".
If this is a street car, SELL your built LS head, put the money towards a ported/built VTEC head with quality parts and quality installation, retune and I guarantee you will wonder why you didn't do that in the first place.
You will not only make your power goal with less boost pressure, your choice for camshafts are significant, ease of tuning to make MORE power, and maintaining driveability is why VTEC was developed in the first place.
Both of your choices will cost aprox. the same in the end.
The head swap will help with making more power with less strain on engine components.
A sleeved block will handle more pressurization, but will the rest of your setup be up to par, to get to your power goal?
A head swap, is more/less a simple swap over.
A sleeved block requires a complete rebuild.
Think about it.
