New Turbo Kit
List,
I'm developing a turbo kit here in New Zealand for the B18C and B16 motors .
I thought that you guys on the list have a a great deal more experience with what works and what doesn't on these Honda motors (My background is with Skyline GTR's and Mitsi Evo's)
If you were to start from scratch building a kit what would you like to see done better/different to the Drag/F-max type of kits that are out there.
What springs into my mind is a proper ECU upgrade (Hondata) rather than just piggy back's which I feel are just a band-aid fix
Also do 1600-1800 motors need T4 comp wheels for only 10 psi ?!? . I `think a T3 is much more realistic for these engines and there expected boost levels
Your thoughts would be great
Thanks

Re: New Turob Kit (NewZealand)
hey there neighbor......Im from sydney and Im getting my turbo installed by V&E Rigoli....It'll cost me round about 5000-6000 including 3'full exhaust and stand alone ECU and stronger injectors than the stock ones....Im contemplating on getting the stock wrx turbo or the s14 t28 turbo......Im putting in second hand R32 GTR front mount intercooler.....I dont know any other stock fmic but i'll look around...but i heard the R32 fmic is good enough....Good luck on your kit

Re: New Turbo Kit (NewZealand)
I'd say the ECU upgrade and appropriate fuel injectors are critical.
Regarding turbo choice... yeah, the 1.8L is a "small" engine but revving to over 8000 RPM (and higher in some applications) it flows at LEAST as much air as a 2.5L WRX engine. When you look at it that way, the only T3 wheel that matches is the super-60, and even that is only good if you have no plans to increase boost in the future. The T4 compressors flow the amount of air we need, leave room for boost increase, and do that spinning at a lower speed than the T3 which means cooler intake charge for us, which is a very good thing on high compression engines.
