Anyone heard of the Neptune tuning system? its supposed to be like hondata or uberdata, buddy said it was $100...
was thinkin of running it for my ems, opinions?

It's supposed to be cool but you can't change anything yourself. It's great if you like to depend on your "tuner" all the time.
Personally, I keep my laptop in my car so that if the car ever acts up or needs something changed, I can do it whenever I need to. You lose the ability to do this with neptune.

With uberdata you get the tuning software (for free) so you can make changes if you want, sure.
If you don't ever plan on tuning the car AT ALL yourself (I mainly make changes to drivability/idle stuff ... WOT tuning is pretty set in stone unless I change a mechanical component etc), then neptune might be a good deal for you

well my car is my daily driver, is there anyway to tune it to be fast and still idle ok and such? Ive never driven turbo b4 so this is all new for me (although i have researched the whole install /tech process)

yes you can do all of that with hondata, uberdata, neptune, etc. Also yes you can make changes on the fly if you have the right equipment.

so then i could accomplish what i want with neptune right? I mean 2 maps switchable in realtime...? Also does it have launch modifiers? Like prestage or whatever its called where is switches the rev limit to like 4400 just for launch?

this is some good info. I'm still deciding on what ems I should use. Originally I was deciding on hondata, but the tuners I've been to said its not necessary since I'm only staying below 12psi. They suggested apexi vafc but I heard a lot of bad things with that on the boards and some people say they're easier to tune with for the tuner so that's why they want me to get it (not b/c it's better for me). One of my friends introduced Neptune to me and i'm still reading up on it. Let's post some more
I must say, if your local tuners suggested running a vafc with a stock ecu on a boosted honda, they are probably poor excuses for tuners. Since when is a fixed n/a ignition timing map anywhere near optimal for a boosted honda? Either they don't know what they are doing, or don't care to help you optimize your setup. Normally, I highly suggest sticking with whatever your tuner knows best, but in this case, I'd find another tuner.
What part of the country are you in? Perhaps we could suggest someone in your area..

Yes.

i agree. poor excuse for tuners

Honda Tech likes to convince everyone to tune and build their own turbo setups, so a lot of people do, and a lot of people have junk *** cars running around.
Dont take any offense to this, but you would know if you wanted to tune it yourself, and you do not sound like you should be tuning it yourself.
Neptune is a great program with a lot of great features. I would go for neptune in your case for piece of mind.
Its not like you really need to change a couple percent on your fuel map, or change idle parameters on a daily basis. Tuning should be a set it and forget deal IMO. Remeber just about every car on the road is running without making on the fly changes to their fuel/ign maps, so it very obviously can be done.

I run a Neptune in my car. You can swap between maps by a few number of ways, like for instance using the A/C button. ie A/C on means race gas, A/C off means pump gas. You can also trigger it by throttle load, pressure, and a few other ways i think.
Do a search for Neptune, there is a big thread which explains all the options.
Its a great system.

I'm from the westcoast, Nor Cal. I'm thinking of going to Rcrew for tuning. They're the only certified Neptune tuner in my area. Any idea on price ranges? I just want to get an idea so I know how much I'd be spending.

500$ flat rate at Rcrew tuned by SefiXcivic
