Hi all,
in 1 week, i will begin to run my car with my setup.
D16A6 set @ 8 psi on stock internal.
SMC +
450 cc DSM injector
B&M FPR
EGT + A/F + Boost gauge.
I know that i want to go on the dyno but i really don't have time for this month.
So would like to know what is the maximum temperature (F) can i go on the EGT with stock internal.
Thanks a lot.

I don't think anyone can tell you a max temperature. It all depends on a combination of fuel and timing. I was screwing around on the interstate last weekend and while boosting 7psi in 5th gear I was able to make my egt's change from 1300 to 1550, by retarding my timing 15º with my msd ignition, while driving. By retarding the timing that much the combustion wasn't complete as it exited into the exhaust manifold (or so I understand) and that's why the egt's went up. Conversely, the cylinder temps must have gone down proportionately, making it better for my engine. If you know you're getting enough fuel, stay below 1500º, I'd say. Anyone agree/disagree?

thanks,
I only want to be sure to not go to high with my stock internal.
And on the A/F, my mixture is at the last stoichomatic light and sometime it go from stoich to lean and return to stoich. it is normal?

If its an autometer a/f your referring to, then you might as well use your gas gauge as an a/f gauge-----------thats how useless that POS is.
I have a B16, so not sure temps are the same, but before I turbo charged it I leaned it out to see what the temp would be. 1460 max. With the trubo and the probe in the #1 runner I go up to 1400 at full boost and max rev, timing retarded at 8. Cruising around at 3500 is about 1000-1200. Hope this helps.

EGTs depend on a lot of factors but here's mine
At idle 600 to 800F
At 60 mph cruising 1200 to 1250
WOT (at 8.5 psi) 1400 to 1450
Remember that the probe location will affect temps, also backpressure is a big factor, my exhaust is 3 inch turbo to tip.

A/F gauge is junk by it self.
If used with EGT it can be useful. The problem with EGT is you can cause low EGT's by running too lean, once you hit peak EGT (best economy) and continue to lean the mixture you get low EGTs. With A/F ratio gauge can might be able to tell which side of the EGT you are on, the lean or the rich. EGT's vary from 800 -1600F.
Best thing to do is get a wideband o2 so you have get your exact A/F.

ok i check today and here is my setting:
AT 8 psi i have:
idle 800-900 F
WOT : 1350 - 1450
cruising at 60 mph 1250 - 1350.
I will set my timing to 12 degree.
What do you thing about these setting??
