Default Need info on how to clean a head properly

whats the best way to clean your head? With valves still installed? Will water hurt it..will that jam(stick) stuff together?

id like to know too. i wanna clean some of the carbon off the valves and stuff..... any way to do at home rather than sending it to get cleaned and all?

I doubt that water is gonna hurt anything but it's really not gonna clean anything off either.
you should use some type of solvent & a good scrub brush. just rotate your cam so that the chamber you are working on is completely closed then scrub the **** out of it with solvent.

haha his interview with jenna jameson was friggin hilarious...i have that one saved on the computer. (it was like a year and a half ago or so)

i was just making sure after i scrub all this **** off that it would be ok to rinse it down with water....so its ok to get water and stuff instide the intake and exhaust ports ?

I cleaned my cylinder head like that. Make sure the head is bare so that you can get all the water out. Use hot water and degreaser. I used Greased Lightning, worked great. After you’re done washing, dry it off best you can. Use compressed air to blow all the water out of the oil passages, coolant passages, and crevices. Use paper towels to dry further. Use compressed air again. The place the head near an electric heater to dry it completely.

get it tanked. go to a head shop. im sure they have it there. or to a local college with a auto shop. they prob do it for free. comes out sooo clean. i remember me and my friend (the b man) where rebuilding a head, was pretty filthy b4 it went in and o my it ws sooo purty after . mmm so purty
