Default need to hit mid 7's in the 1/8th

here's my set-up for now, what steps do i need to take to accomplish this goal?

d16y8 stock internals at 12psi w/ td04h on 110 octane
IC
440cc's ran w/ vafc hack
slicks

i'm hitting 1.9 in the 60ft, i know i need practice
w/ a trap speed of constant 79mph
1/8th best of 8.81 w/ constant high 8's

i'm dropping a block off at the machine shop, and now i'm looking to see what would be the best parts needed to hit mid 7's....i'm trying to do this without the help of spraying.....is this possible? what size turbo? lag is too big of a key when going in the 1/8th. thanks for the input guys!

Default Re: need to hit mid 7's in the 1/8th (98civicEX)

You need torque. My car runs 7's in 1/8, then again i'm a good bit lighter with a bigger engine and a bigger turbo. A bigger turbo may help you out as more flow = more power. You won't be able to run that same 12 PSI of boost on a bigger turbo, you'll prolly have to back the boost down. However too big of a turbo won't do anything for you.

Get your **** tuned, i'd pull as much power as I could out of my current setup before I went on to a built block. A bigger exhaust would help your top-end. Keep in mind the the d-series are the grocery getters engine of honda. You can squize a good bit of power out of them, but be mindful of the weaker internals. Any bit of detonation at that amount of boost isn't gonna be pretty.

You're needing to drop a ful second off your time huh? You're right you 60ft could use some work, but it's not all that bad. I lil bit bigger cam would prolly help, as well as a port match job in the entire engine. Adjustable cam gears. Hi-Perfromance ignition. 2.5 or 3" exhaust. If you don't want a bigger exhaust b/c of noise, you're a *****.
