Need Help w/ Srp Piston Ring Gapping
I have a B18b Turbo and recently purchased a set of SRP pistons w/ Standard bore adn a compression of 9:2:1 and my question is if anyone knows how much gap i should have for the Top and Second rings. I heard they must be filed to teh right gapping. Is that true??

Do a search. There was a topic on this. There is a formula for it. You multiply the bore by some # to get ring end gap. Then you just use a feeler gauge to determine the gap. Use a file and file the end inwards.

Re: Need Help w/ Srp Piston Ring Gapping (earl)
Earl taught me how to do this....
.018 on the gap and use a piston ring filer....I had to help LsTurbo91 did his last week..and we just use a regular file and secure it to a vice, then gap the ring...make sure the ring form a square gap and also another thing earl taught me...is to smooth out the end to make sure that the ring will not catch the piston when expanding.....run the ring on the ring gap and try to pull it out slowlu and make sure they don't get caught up in the ring...
good luck...and to Earl..
