Need help Bov not Blowing off.
Turbo 00 Si stock b16. blow off valve line hooked up to manifold vacuum. has vacuum guage reads about 30. tryed while boosting 10psi also 5 psi does not blow off at all. all i hear is a loud surge. anyone have any ideas? screw on bov is set to softest it can go. its a greddy knock off.
why post if your not gonna post help. its a greddy knock off becuase my mommy and daddy dont buy all my parts for me. anyway. whiterice what do u mean? what size line or which line? line im using comes off the corner of engine bay tees off on a canister which onehalf goes to cruise control other half goes into manifold but i have it teed where it goes to manifold and have bov and boost gauge on it.
A little flaming helps get the point across. If "mommy" and "Daddy" were buying me parts would i be riding a 22 year old CRX? No probably not. Don't get soooo defensive right off the rip.
If the line is getting vacuum, but the valve is not opening, the valve could be defective i.e. the blow off valve. try to pull a vacuum on the line and see if it opens manually.

mine will if its very cold and the idle is 2500 rpm or so. just pulling the throttle open while under the hood u should be able to see some movement on the softest setting. tee off the brake booster line man start there, then u know u at least have adequate vacuum.
Yes the mommy and daddy. We all can only wish silver surfers and type r engines came from their pocket lmao.
Now your valve. Take it all apart and reassemble with some oil... Just a bit. If everything appears to function freely hook it up
To the brake booster
With a T.
If no blow off ditch it. I spent about 5 mins trying to get my fake to work and decided *** that it was so cheaply
Made.
Get blitz or apexi. Too many hks and greddy fakes

Did you hook it up to the right nipple? Some BOVs have two, one to keep it clamped shut under high boost which isn't needed on most setups, and the other is used to actually actuate the valve.
figured it out. took it apart and they had 2 springs stacked inside each other to make it super stiff. took one spring out and it works perfect now. thanks for the help everyone.
was about to post this, I had the same issue on my beater sohc. the 2 springs are just too stiff to open
Hmm, I have a greddy type s. When I hooked it up my old tuner said it was wrong and hook it up to the top port but it surged a lot like that so I googled vacuum diagram for it and had it hooked up right to begin with and switched it back and it worked. Years ago I took it apart and it had two springs, read about the type s boost leaking after fifteen lbs so I modified it to hold the spring rate tighter, even on 6psi and softest setting it operates flawless. Double check your vacuum and put that spring back in or have fun boost leaking. Now it's running 25 psi still no issues.
