Default Need advice or experiance!

Looking to get more torque or faster boost build would be more appropriate. Current set up is B16A2 (99 SI) with J4D LSD tranny and 4.4 final drive. I have a 3 in mandral bent exhaust and a ramhorn manifold, 450 DSMs, and an ebay 50 trim turbo, I dont see full boost ( 9psi ) till about 5500 RPM. Seems kinda high for a 50 trim, Now is that normal or did I get the wrong size turbo sent to me? Im thinking of getting a name brand T3 super 60 and a .90 BAR wastegate. I want full boost ( about 14 PSI ) as close to 4000 RPMs as possible, I plan on engaging VTEC around 4500 to help spool the super 60 OR should I keep the 50 trim and change the VTEC to 4500, how much does the VTEC help engage spool up time?

Might be an exhaust leak before the turbo. Check gaskets between the turbo and manifold, manifold and external wastegate (if you have one), and manifold and head.
If your turbo uses an internal wastegate, that could be leaking as well.

I cant find any exhaust leaks anywere. Its an external WG. I guess my real question is when would I see 14PSI on a B16 using a T3 super 60 with the above set up?

Buy a real tubocurarine the e ay are hit or miss and yours is probably a miss and dragging in the chra. Also don't expect to much out of a b16 with a short stroke and what hp are you trying for psi is irrelivent. Give better specifics and people can help you better. Also if your running a " ramhorn" is his eBay junk as well or a real manifold

the wastegate is important to have name brand, cheap ones tend to leak and will give poor spooling. been there done that years ago. the tial might help out but the turbo isnt going to help

Not a huge fan of the spray. But yeah im ordering the wastegate then getting my tune redone at forged performance, my clutch went out on the dyno so they tuned it at 11 to 1 air/fuel ratio to just be safe. I believe the extra fuel might be slowin it down also. I got a new clutch so well see end of October if it all changes with a better WG and new tune.
