need advice
i posted this is my build thread but then thought it might not get as many views or opinions as starting a new thread would.
basically i started to drill my valve cover for a catch can setup tonight and i think i screwed it up but want some opinions to see if theres any alternatives to scraping the valve cover and starting over.
i started with the smallest bit i had and worked my way up to 1/2 inch. on the last go around on the last hole the bit grabbed the edge of the baffling in the valve cover and tore it down. there is maybe 3mm of space between the inside wall of the cover to the baffle and i was being very careful to not hit the baffle and go through but it happened. as you can see in the pic it doesnt have a large hole, but it is large enough that a piece of metal shaving got caught in the crack, so i know more than likely smaller shavings fell inside. i know the only only viable options are to throw it away (not preferrably) or drill out the rivets holding the baffle on to clean any shavings out. the question is how to put it back on or do i have to? the way i see it is if i dont oil will spray up into the lines defeating the purpose of having a catch can and it will just fill with oil and so will the lines? what do you guys think? heres the pic.

have it welded over, sand down, and either scrap that idea or purchase one that already has them in it.
I never did understand the crankcase vent by -10AN fittings in the valvecover, but I notice this is what a lot of drag racers do.

I wouldnt stress to much over it. My buddy did the same thing to his car. We just removed any peices that where questionable of staying in place, bent the tin back over the cover and welded on the bung. When you think you have all the peices of metal out you probably dont. I ran his under water in the bathtub after he said it was all clean and pulled out alot more chunks that were all caught up. So make sure you shake it around alot and make sure the water hits the holes at every angle and you'll be good!
