Default Necessary to put oil on air filter?

Is it necessary to put an oil such as K&N's on the air filter going to the turbo? Or is it cool just to leave it the way it is.

Yeah you really should. The oil traps fine dust and crap.

They usually come with oil on them, but they one you are using might not have much left in it.

Without applying oil, the filter is pretty useless for the finer debris and dust.

That's what I figured, but some filters just don't look like they have any oil on them when you get them. For example, the one that came with my Drag III kit. I guess the oil is minimally applied.

Or the oil it came with didn't have a colored dye in it.

Most likely.
