Default My Winter Project

Well after a few bumps in the middle of the road (Fixed Water Pump, Oil Pump & replace T-Belt @ 40k) ... I'm finally able to get started on Turbo stuff ..... Thanks to Jon "Farnsrocket" for the laughs/humor on Friday nite ..... It certainly made time fly. Without his help the Crank Pulley Bolt would off never come off .... (Not even my 600ft/lbs Impact gun was cutting it ? .... happens to me, why ? I dunno ... )

Here's some drawback(s) to installing the MaxRev Turbo kit on my EG:

1) Had to remove TEG Radiator, after Jon pointed out clrearence. Indeed I measured and will not fit !!! ..... So back to my friend's Salvage Yard and replaced with "Dual-Core" Radiator ASAP. Well at least I can keep TEG A/C !!!

Before

TEG Radiator .... Buh-Bye

Hello there is somethin' missing here ? (Dual Core Rad)

Roomy !!!

Bad Pump !!! Go figure 40K on motor and not driven hard at all ?

Well I doubt it takes that much to pull off, but it usually happens to me "only" (maybe). I pulled off some pulley bolts off truck engines with success using a crappier impact wrench so go figure ?

Jon, luckly brought his breaker bar with him, we took tire off, and the key point was to have the car in Second gear (not First gear, 'cause the car still moved fwd).

The only misshap was this:

Chipped some body work off the front fender, I wont say who did it

So your saying that a 600ft/lb impact gun couldnt take the crack pulley off ,but a breaker bar got it off. Im really confused now because I broke two breaker bars trying to get the axle nut of off my mom's car. But a 400ft/lb impact wrench took it right off. What's going on here????????

the easiest way to get a crank pull off is to take a blow torch, and heat the **** out of the bolt, take a 3 foot long breaker bar, put a crobar in between the flywheel bolts......and have at it, you will have a much easier time doing it this way

CzanSOHC It's off Hamilton Rd. (heading south from Airport) right before Broad St. behind "Cottman" transmissions.

I guess this guy build professional race cars and chassis, he's going to put Jon's rollcage in.

Yeah, Rashy, we actually did touch it with the torch at the end....remember????
John Patterson is a super welder, if you need work done, tell him you know me he will do just about any welding job......very good prices and the best welds I have ever seen.......755-2650 151 N. Hamilton Road
Just have your stuff ready to go, he will charge more to cut and make the stuff ready to weld.
I can't wait till you have your car done Rashy!!!!.....later.
