how much weight can you loose from gutting ?
i helped a friend of mine totally gut out his 92 dx hatch except for dash seats and console, and door panals
to me we pulled out alot of stuff and all together it felt like the box it was all in only weighed like 25 lbs or
so and now i hate riding in that car , way to noisey in my opinion. it just dosent seem worth it to me and yes
we took off the doot panels and they do not weigh all that much either. just venting about something i dont
care for too much.id just rather run a 12.999999 with everything than run a 12.999998 gutted.just my opinion
thou im not a cool JDMer thou

most people will say it wont make a diff, but i think it does
especailly in an autocross, less in a drag race. i can see a diff going around turns.

Did ya take out all the sound deadening tar off the floor in trunk, under the seats and under the floor mats plus all the firewall crap? That **** in my 95 Teg weighed about 40lbs.

yes we took all that tar **** off with dry ice and he also took out everything to do with
the a/c below the dash and still it dosent seem like all that much weight to me just,
in my opinion it is definatly not worth it, being that it just looks like *** and you hear
every noise from everything around you and the car.

I'm still trying to find out how I'm gonna drop 200+lbs form my 4dr and keep it legal for NHRA...I'm not sure if I can cut everything off...
right now, my 4dr weighs in at 2275 form the factory...I'm hoping to get it in at 2000lbs...but I'm thinking it's not possible becuase of the extra weight from the roll cage, bigger motor(h22), turbo stuff....everything adds up
2200lbs with me in it is my goal

Replacing the hood hatch and glass will see the greatest benefits. I left the tar on the floor because it's weight where you need it down low. I'm worry more about the weight higher than the wheels. That is all the weight that has to be transfered the quickest when you change the direction of your momentum. If there's a lot of weight to move up there it doesn't change very smoothly, nor very quickly. That's part of the reason we lower our cars, right? Think of it as being top heavy until you lose all that weight. Drive it with FG doors and hatch with FAL windows. You will definately feel a difference. My car is very loud too, but I love the looks I get when people try and rev at me and I return it. It's like watching a kid **** his pants...
