is my oil pressure normal??
autometer oil pressure gauge
idle- 25
crusing with really light throttle (in low rpms 2000-3000)-45
crusing with a little more throtthle (in low to mid rpm's 3000-4500)-60

Re: is my oil pressure normal?? (nlc)
throttle position doesn't make a difference for oil pressure. It's rpm dependant, because the pump is spun by the crankshaft.
Idle should be about 20psi and 3000rpm's should be about 60. Around 70-75psi when VTEC is engaged. . .
It would help if you told us the block, because VTEC pumps have a higher pressure. . .

I was told that at idle around 8-15 lbs. More importantly, you should have 60 lbs by 3k RPM. High oil pressure isn't a bad thing, as long as levels (cap.) are right etc. This is what I go by, anybody else?

At start up cold-->80-82PSI
Warmed up----> 20-22psi
After a few heat cylcles or being running for some time it stays between 10-15 at iddle (iddle at 8-900rpm)

my idle is 7-800 and its only 60-65psi at max
so my #'s are ok?

Re: (W O T)
80psi on start up, 25psi on warm idle, 80psi by 3k, 85psi max. I'm using regular Castrol GTX 10W30. I'm also using a .080 restrictor and a -4AN line, no blown seals and now leaks at all.

if it makes u feel any better... in an 04 nsx idle... the damn guage BARELY moves... and like 5k its like 30ish and at 8... meer 60-70 lol.
when i drove it out of the shop to gas it, i looked at the guage and freeked out... then was told "its normal for oil pressure to be minimal" i dont like that
