I agree, I prefer to run them looser, but I guess I was thinking the wrong specs.

oem spec for
first ring : .008" - .014"
2nd ring : .016" - .022"

I thought both rings were .008" - .014" for oem spec. Doh.

Well, I am still within oem spec on the second ring, I think itll be just fine for my goals. I can pull the pistons out pretty easily and gap them a bit, but I don't think I should worry too much, especially since my gaps are matching CP and Wiseco's formula.

They are tight for our taste, but will it be fine? I'd say so. You with me turbohatch, and lightning?

It was getting pretty hot from the hot air coming off my radiator, Havent tested it since the wrap but a quality wrap should actually work better then the tape, the tape comes in handy when you are unable to wrap such as flat surfaces
does the wrap have the shiny thermal layer for repelling IR heat? the tape has it.
if it does, then yes the wrap I imagine would work better because it's thicker. if it doesnt though, I'd find the wrap to not be worth it because it'll just fall apart over time, and will constantly be itching the crap out of any part of your body that touches it lol.

heat wrap, aka header wrap, is just woven fiberglass with a bonding agent/hardener. after it's cured, it becomes very brittle and deteriorates quite easily anytime anything touches it, and the fiberglass fibers cause major itching and burning anywhere it touches your body. you also cannot clean it if it gets dirty.
heat tape is woven fiberglass (thinner than heat wrap), with adhesive on one side, and a shiny foil on the other side for reflecting IR heat waves. it is not brittle, it does not itch, you can handle it just like any bare metal pipe as many times as you want, and you can clean it with almost anything with zero harm done.

Installed the head today, along with the water pump, oil pump, timing belt, etc.

Friday I will be making baffles for my oil catch can fittings on the valve cover. Will also adjust valves, paint the cover, and slap the bitch on, along with the oil pick up, and windage tray, oil bolt stud kit, and oil pan, and the bitch will be slapped in the car!

its dei Titannium wrap, my bad got the name wrong the first time, I just took it for a short spin had to do some testing, anyway the wrap did make a big difference the pipe is cold compared to last week it was pretty hot, at least a 20-30 degree difference if not more.

not trying to start a debate with anyone simply sharing information

DEI titanium exhaust wrap with LR technology is constructed from pulverized lava rock, extruded into fibers, and then woven into a tight weave, giving it titanium-like strength and toughness
Wrap Material: Lava Rock
Temperature Rating: 1,800°F

debates often bring out some useful info though lol. I don't see where a debate would be caused by anything you said though, so no worries
