My map sensor is throwing a code, I am going to boost , maybe not so bad???? plz help
Heys guys I got a 95 Teg GSR and the map sensor is throwing a code, MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor, ok so I am going to turbo the car within the next couple of weeks and I am going to either do uberdata being that it is free, or actually go with a Hondata if I can get the money up,
My ?? is should I go ahead and get another stock map sensor or should I just go ahead and get a gm 3 bar, and wire it up . And will it affect the idling or driving of the car until I get it boosted, Cause I plan on running 12 psi daily, so what do you guys think?
Also this may be a stupid ?? but where does the 3bar map go , surely it does not fit the intake manifold right?? or do you just leave the stock map on the manifold and the run the line and wires to the 3 bar map. thanks

AFAIK your car will run like crap with the 3 bar and no management - put the 3 bar in after you get some engine management.

Either of those will do, make sure you get the 3bar uberdata if your using the 3bar map sensor.

first thing, GM 3 bar map sensor will prolly not run with stock ECU.
Second, to install the GM 3 bar, you need to cut the harness off of the stock map sensor, splice it to the GM map and run a vaccum line from the map sensor to any vacuum source.
Third, to solve your problem, does your car idles like crap now ? if so, try to see the rubber o-rings in between the map sensor and the TB, it may have been torns and etc..

It actually idles fine right now but when I always hit vtec at 4400 rpm , I get a CEL and two codes code 3(map) and code 22(vtec oil pressure switch), but there is plenty of oil in the motor and just had it changed 3 days ago. Any other suggestions thanks
