My idle is jumping up and down while at idle. What is wrong?
You guys have to absolutely check every connection around the manifold area, everything there is, the throttle body iacv gasket, I'm talking everything!! Make sure all the gaskets are there and they all look good.
Check all the torque specs and make sure you don't have any bolts missing in that area.
Thats how i found my problem..

i don't think so because i have the same problem, after installing the jrsc it started.
too me it still looks like a vacuum problem but i just cant find the f**ker (sorry but i'am getting a little fustrated

Did you find a solution?
Mine does the same thing -- only in park or neutral. It does it when it is cold outside. Lately it has been doing it most of the time, even when the engine is warm.
This has been going on for two years now!

maybe it is the throttle positioning sensor... if it is possible then change the throttle body and check again... i had the same... changing the throttle body helps...

you could adjust the IACV duty on your map. My car had a little crazy idle issue, I adjusted the IACV duty cycle and it lessed it greatly, then I found out I had a small small small hole in one of my heater hoses, which was letting out some coolant, now with the coolant at full and the heater hose replaced, car idles perfectly.

Wow, seems like a common problem.
As of last night, I am also experiencing this. (I bought the car two days ago and am not familiar with it yet to say the least) I'm a brand spank'n newbie to turbo hondas!
Long story short,
• I checked for vacuum leaks the best I could in low light conditions (obviously not good enough to rule that out)
• Coolant level looked low so I will be topping it up
• Turning on the a/c stabilizes the idle for about a minute
• Have yet to check the IACV (hell didn't know what it was before reading this thread)
Lots of ideas here that will hopefully resolve the issue with my car, I will keep everyone updated as to which one, if any, is the culprit.
Engine is a B18b w/built bottom end, equipped with a modified drag turbokit and run with Hondata s200.

I don't have forced induction and i have the same idle problem. This is the wierd thing, it all stared after i installed some motor mount inserts when i had my D16 in my civic ex. Well, since then i swapped engines with a friend of mine who's civic was going to get repoed. After I installed a b16a2 into my civic, and put my engine into his, the b16 idle was jumping up and down but the idle on the d16 was fine. Keep in mind, we swapped everything, throttle body, ecu, all the sensors. What i'm thinking is when i installed the rear motor mount, i might have pulled i wire loose from the connecter that goes into the iac. If this is the case, whats the easiest way to replace the connecter without having to order a whole new wiring harness?? Should i go to a junkyard and find a connecter and splice it into mine???
the best way to test for a iacv or fast idle problem is to
1. remove the intake piping from the throttle body.
2. with the car idleing at running temp, using your finger cover the holes inside the throttle body( 1 on top, and 1 on bottom), cover them individually and if the top one fixes the idle loop, its the iacv, if its the bottom the stops it, its the fast idle
3. if your car has no fast idle valve, the best thing i can say to try off hand is to try to pressure bleed the coolant system and top off the coolant
