High idle only after boost

High idle only after boost
i did a search on this but didnt find anything close enough with any solutions.
the car is a 5th gen hatch with a GSR and custom turbo. the car idle fines at startup after it warms up, and the idle is still find with normal driving. even when boosting but keeping the rpms less than 8k, the idle still goes back to normal. the problem is that after the car is boosting and goes over 8k, the idle refuses to go back to normal and will stay at 1500. my friend tested this several times and said it only seems to have this high idle when going over 8k. anything under is fine, but after he passes 8k, the idle will stick at 1500. i was thinking about checking his vacuum lines again tomorrow, but everything seems fine and in place. any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated. thanks
