My HKS is weak, any suggestions?
I just put on a used HKS bov, from someone I trust, so I don't believe he sold me a broken bov-- but it sounds really weak. I'm running 6psi on my car, and have adjusted the tension from tight, to loose, to everything-- and it sounds like a wet fart, w/ a little bit of the hks sound to it. Any suggestions?

I have noticed that the super sequential is quiter under lower boost settings. At higher it is louder than hell. The BOV is also adjustable so if you want it loud you can make it..

sorry about that, it is the HKS SS bov.
How can I adjust it to make it louder?? it just seems to be releasing very slowly. I've messed around w/ the settings a little bit-- nothing major tho.

hey whats up man...it was loud as hell on my car at only 15psi..
what you might try is messing with the 8 small allen head bolts that hold the casing of the bov on...i took that off to get better access at the snap ring when i was removing it from the flange, i tighened them up but i might have got them too tight or not tight enough.
other then that im really not sure..the bov has really low mileage on it and was really loud on my car, so if its not that then maybe it is just the lower boost that your running? im not sure
let me know if adjusting those allen heads makes any difference...that is what tightens the seal on the valve so maybe the seal is just being pushing in too far (overtightened) and the valve isnt getting opened up enough?

look inside the BOV and see what color the insert is, If it is purple like mine, you got the quiet version. It sounds like a dove almost not the high pitched sound like I hear on others.
All you need is the $15 gold insert and that will make it louder and have the high pitched sound.

its not the gold insert, but it definitely still has the high pitched whistle sound...this is the 3rd one ive had and none of them had the gold insert and they all had the high pitched sound
i bet its just the lower boost

that is a good point.
but i think it would be cool to have a bov that sounded like a wet fart!

yea it will have a high pitched sound at that low of a boost level, if you get to 12-15 psi it sounds likea dove and the high pitched sound goes away.
I heard a guy with a WRX and his sounded mean, I ordered the gold insert

No no no, I mean a wet fart, that would normally be silent, but now is audible since it is wet

Re: My HKS is weak, any suggestions? (integranator)
well guys I got the wrong part, mine came with the silver insert (stock) and its the same as the gold one. So I'm gonna try the purple one, or if anyone has a purple I will trade them for a gold.
