Is that version of block guard good?
Aren't you afraid that the bridges on the block guard might not be strong enough to hold the sleeves from cracking.
Well you get my idea...

Are you ditching all of them or just 1 and 2 because of your incorrect assumptions? The 5th gear is still a good idea if it's a daily driver.

Same thing I was going to ask. I want to get a GSR with an LS 5th gear. Anyone have an idea as to how much a GSR transmission is, and how much extra it would cost me to have a LS 5th put in it?

its an str block guard, same design is also used by golden eagle. if block posting is believed to work then im more then sure this block guard will do its job.

yea im just ditching 1 and 2 gear, going to keep the fifth LS. it will do me good on the 700 mile trip i am taking in about 30 days. i forgot my camera today, i put on the all the gears and timing belt. crank pulley, power steering, alternator, painted my distributor. put my IM manifold on and also put the wiring harness back on. im taking it off the engine stand tomarrow and putting the tranny on then installing the motor into the car. LOTS of pics tomarrow, perhaps some video as well. im def filming the first start up which should be tomarrow as well. pray for me everything goes well.

This maybe a dumb question,
But arent 2 of the 4 pistons suppose to be up while the other 2 are down..
In the pics they all 4 look even

looks like a promising setup. 400 hp shouldn't be a problem.

yeah man I was just as nervous when I started mine up, plus I didn't have anyone around that knew anything, plus I invited friends over for add pressure... when I turned the key it started right up but I turned it off because I didn't see oil pressure. turned out I was being a puss and just didn't let it run long enough to build pressure.

looks good man gl

no hes not. neither am i. My friend has been running 447 at 20 psi on a stock sleeve GSR for over a year now. was running 25 psi before that with a shittier tune making 415whp. Im building an LS vtec that will be prolly close to the same, im gonna go a little convservative and stop at about 410whp.

yeah it did! but I tried to prime it by turning it over without ignition and feed line for turbo in a cup... would not pump, my guess is that my bat was not charged enough to crank the motor over fast enough... so I manually pored oil into the turbo, put the feed back on and started it up...

things to keep in mind
