I have a few complaints about your setup...

1. The turbo, even though its a good turbo, is NOT good for your stock internal power goals...especially 6psi.

2. Running a 2.5" dp and exhaust off a cast manifold with a large turbo at such low boost is going to promote slow spool with power dropping off in the higher RPMs

3. A 7.5lb Flywheel coupled with that Silver Surfer is going to make shifting fun...you're going to fall out of boost every shift.

My advice would be this...upgrade to a 3" exhaust, plan to run a little higher boost (300whp is safe believe it or not) and consider finding another turbo that more suits your goals. Seeing as you bought that turbo from STC (the shodan) you should have opted for the GT3251 because it would have been 100x more streetable.

Why would that be?

He is not lowering the shifting points.

I think the lighter flywheels tend to make the engine lose rpms faster when letting off the gas.

i seriously doubt he will fall out of boost with a b16 trans.....

and although the turbo may not be the best for his current power goals, i believe it will be a great turbo if he ever decides to upgrade his motor at a later time and doesnt want to have to get a different turbo setup

It is a great turbo...ive talked to The Shodan about it many times after i bought my GT3255.

Also, it would be great if he built the engine but you can only plan out so far in advance...in the past 2 years i have owned 3 turbos and 4 turbo setups...i'd much rather put in a little more work than have a shitty setup with the hope that i MIGHT build it some day

i understand, but when i get my setup this spring i plan on going with a 35r, granted a gt30 series would be better for my stock gsr, but i plan on building my motor to handle more and would rather only buy my turbo set up once, i do this because a turbo is usually the most expensive part of the build and i know i wont have enough money to do it 2 let alone 3 times

i cut the grill just enough to fit the intercooler on my GSR and IMO i think it looks a lot better than the grills that are cut straight out...granted, it does take a lot longer this way

why not go for 8-10 psi tuned and make decent power...that turbo is retarded for your goals. you could of gone with a mitsu 16g or a smaller t3/t4 combo. and yes you will fall out of boost every shift its almost promised.

^^exactly...id shoot for 300whp and once you hit that, be happy. Theres no way i would tune for 5psi with the Silver Surfer...for your goals its way to big

b16a4 and I talked about this at length when he was looking for the turbo he needed. From what I remember (correct me if I'm wrong here ) he was looking at the longer run with a properly built engine that could handle the amount of power in which the silver surfer would be in more of its "sweet spot". As always, I sent a calculated diagram sheet as to where boost would fall on each rpm range at a certain boost level, but I have to admit, I calculate at the 12+psi range for him. He may lag a bit at such a low level, but hopefully, with some time and money, he'll not have to worry about it when he gets the motor properly worked over. So I think he'll be ok in the long run.
