I doubt it, 900C is generally known as "Danger area" on all cars....

Maybe your gauge is out of calibration or something? Try using someone elses EGT gauge and probe.

A/F ratio looks good...(a little rich)...

If those EGTs are correct though, they are not safe.

Nothing above 750C, ever. It went down about 70C when I got full 3" exhaust and 3" dp.... Better at evacuating heat I suppose.

I cant believe your engine didnt melt already, 1000c??? Thats nuts...I dont think preludes would run any hotter than others cause although beefer it still uses the internals are still made of the same stuff. Where is your EGT probe tapped? The closer to your head the hotter the reading, so someone with the guage tapped at the down pipe should have lower temps that some one tapped on the manifold...hope any of this helps.

Having too much fuel can push up cylinder pressures and increase EGT's too. Sounds to me like the gauge is whacked because at 1900+F, I'd be freaked and my pistons would be too methinks, heh. EV.

that's what i'm thinking. If he's seeing over 900C there's bound to be something breaking; his car shouldn't be running smoothly..
