Default My cooling problem.

Ok so my car overheats, esp when its warm outside. I can usually drive it in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear just cruising w/o problems, but when im in 4th or 5th no matter what speed the temp starts to climb, esp when going up any kind of incline even very minor hills. So I have to drive with the heat on, which keeps the temp in check for the most part but not 100%.
I have searched many threads on cooling issues and these are the things I have done to try and fix the problem.
Burped the system numerous times.
New Tstat
New rad cap
Del Sol dual core radiator
flushed system and put in distilled water & redline water wetter
Washer trick lol
A $60 rad fan mounted on the front of the rad pushing into the engine bay.

So that was the easy stuff. Now im left with the shitty options. Im almost positive that the problem is the damn Nuformz block gaurd thats in it.

Looks hella restricting and its flush with the top, I hear its supposed to be down a little.
Heres a pic with the HG sitting on top. This does not look so good for coolant flow when compared to the holes in the HG.

I had the car neptuned and the actual temps never dropped below 195. The avg temp was 200 - 215 I even saw 217 at one point. This was on a 95deg day and we were beating on it, but still freakin hot.

This is pretty lame to get this far and have to tear it down again. What I want to know is, are there anythings I can do at this point w/o having to pull the head and ATTEMPT to take this pos out?
If I have to pull the head and get at the block gaurd, would I be able to line up the holes of the hg and drill out the holes to match (bigger) on the block gaurd?
I dont know if I will be able to get the gaurd out as its pinned into place.

Any useful imput would be appreciated!

it could also be your water pump, did you replace that during the build up?

I'm thinking block-guard too. Unless the problem is air flow in the case of a lot of boosted Hondas with FMIC's. You'll probably have to pull the head no matter what, contact the maker of the blockguard to ask about modifications to it.

I didn't see where it was mentioned, but do you have a stock/aftermarket radiator fan?

Aftermarket 1200cfm fan mounted on the front pushing into the bay, and it works.

Im going to try and block the drivers side with something so that I get more flow to the rad on the passenger side.

200-215 is not too hot. You won't hurt anything at that temp. Hell, stock the new vettes run close to 240. When i had my integra I had a speed pro on it. When I noticed that it would cruise around 210-215 deg. I flipped out, only to later realize that that's normal. Notice that your temp gauge is still in the middle? Hell, the oem fan switch doesn't even turn on the fans until 194deg. F. If 217 was as hot as it got, then put it back together and go play with it, there's nothing wrong with it...

It hit 217 with the heat on, with the heat off it will put the stock temp gauge above half way. After looking at that other thread I think most of the problem is lack of air flow to the rad.

Thanks for the input.

maybe you should upgrade your radiator,
and run some redline waterwetter

mine runs 230 degrees sometimes. but usually 220-225. and the stock gauge needle is a little below half. i also have my temp sensor for my gauge mount mista bone style in the thermostat housing. which is right next to the turbo which heats it up pretty good. so that might play a role in it.
