ok, i was almost home, like half a mile away, then i get a CEL...then all of a sudden my car starts trippin...starts to slow down like crazy, boggs like a madman and backfires nonstop!! and i had to ride the clutch all the way home drivin like 5mph!! whats happening?!?!? i thinkin a blown head?!?!

 

inspect your distributor, rotor, cap, plugs.

 

whats the code? Check your code, and your plugs. Replace plugs, reset ECU. If the problem is still there, inspect your MAP sensor, plug wires, and do a compression test.

 

i got codes 72,74 and 3

 

Check the rotor.... mine came loose and broke off the distributor... sucked hard til I found out it was a $6 fix...

 

Code # 3 = MAP Sensor
Code #72 = Cyclinder #2 Misfire
Code #74 = Cyclinder #4 Misfire

Looks like your MAP sensor is either defective or your check valves are not functioning correctly and thus causing the 2 cyclinders to MISFIRE. Take your plugs out and check them for detonation. Seems to me that the MAP sensor has gone bad or the check valves are not doing the job.

ok, i reset my ecu, had to get my car runnin..had a final today, i will check everything when i get home from work.....hopefully everything is ok..ill keep everyone posted

 

yeah i had my my rotor fall off too i thought i blew the motor
