MSD6BTM, hype or hot ?
I used a 6BTM on my prior setup (T3, LS, FMU setup)
It worked fine, but would sometimes get strange noises when I upped the boost too much. I assumed it was just bad tuning at the time, but wanted to get other opinions from actual owners of the BTM unit.
What are your experiences ? Did it work to your satisfaction ? Does it retard timing quickly enuff to avoid detonation ?
I intend to run a BTM, AFC setup till hondata, and want the advantage of advanced timing b4 boost, but don't want to blow the motor on my D16 before I have a block read to swap.

Re: MSD6BTM, hype or hot ? (X2BOARD)
i've been using my BTM for about 15k miles now with no problem at all. it should react instantly with boost unless you have a bad unit. just hook it up to a pump or some source of boost at idle and use a timing gun to see if it retard timing.

the easy way to test it is to turn it to max(3deg) and run the car at full boost, there should be a lost of power.
