Default MSD rich/ lean indicator

i was looking in the summin mag and came across the MSD rich/lean indicator. I know this is not some wide band o2 but could this work to tune your car. well "eye ball" tune it anyway. this is the product code msd-8933 if you want to look it up.

It would be the same thing as using a stoichiometer, autometer a/f gauge wouldnt it? i dont think that you can get i great dial in with that but if you have nothing else.....
