I've never used one but just don't like the fact that it only provides lean/rich indicators. Because there's no way to tell how lean or how rich. What's rich for one particular setup might be too lean for another and vice versa.

lean and rich dont change from set up to set up,its about the ratio that the oxygen is left in your fumes, that ratio dosnt change, there are not different ratios for different set ups,i agree its not broard enough to let you see how far lean or rich you are, that kinda sucks, but your ratio would be the same in any car.right?

You'd get the same or better info by just having an air fuel gauge reading your stock O2 sensor.

Yeah it's be really neat to have the rich light constantly on at 14.6:1 AFR. That would make for some fun.

When I said "setup", I meant the setup of each engine and depends on the calibration on the MSD device and at what level of a/f will the rich led light up. For example, the device might think 12.5:1 is rich but certain engine setup requires more fuel and therefore, 12.5:1 is not enough and 12.0:1 is just right and perhaps 11.5:1 is consider rich.

the ratio does not change from car to car,the same stoich ratios are the same for everycar, you dont need different ratios for different set ups, lean is over 14.7 on every car and rich is under 14.7 on every car.im sure its calibrated for 14.7 to be the optimum stoich point,if you run 12.5 on anything,no matter what set up it is then your running lean, right?

lean is over 14.7:1
which makes 14.6 considered rich. Run 14.6:1 AFR throughout the rev range in full boost and see how many dyno runs you get before you need to replace your pistons.
