MSD BTM....Are the settings slightly off????
I was fooling around with this thing for a few days now, and I have noticed that at if I set the btm any higher than .5, the car will fall on its face, from what I believe is too much timing being pulled....Now heres what I am wondering about...If I am running 15 psi of boost, @ .5 retard per pound, that would = 7.5 degrees of timing being pulled which = around 23 degrees total timing....Why would my car fall on its face from 23 deg of total timing unless the msd is not accurate according to the dial???I am thinking that .5 on the msd may be more like 1.0...........Any thoughts????????????????????????
0.5 degrees retard should be 1.66 Kohms on that control ****. The resistance goes from 2 ohms to 10 Kohms. You can do the math to get to your desired level of retard.
I know what level of retard I want, but the btm seems to be off a little....Thats why I am trying to find out if anyone has a similar expierence with this......

Are you using the Hack???
If so then go here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=773290
I used the BTM before without the Hack and I set mine at .75 boosting 6psi.
What did you set the starting point at??

Put it this way....Anything higher than .3 @ 15 psi of boost, the car will take out too much timing, and spit and sputter.....Thats why I am thinking the dial is off some....
