Default msd btm ignition question

i have a friend who wants to trade me the msd btm for my turbo timer and a gauge. the deal is good i guess, but if it is not going to do me much good then i am not going to do this trade. i am boosting 10 psi on an ls in a hatchback. i guess the stock ignition is doing ok...should i upgrade and what difference will it make performance wise? because i just can't see an ignition making any power gains, but i am sure it helps at some boost levels.

Default Re: msd btm ignition question (ho focker)

Whats your timing set at now? Whats good about the BTM is it lets you keep your stock timing when your not in boost and better timeing in low boost, but still retard it in high boost so you don't have detonation. It'll probably add low and midrange power.
