F-MAX IN or OUT??
I think it looks great for low to mid boost setups (up to 15psi or so). There are a lot of very strong, high power engines that run the extra injector setup. I think its the next best step behind standalone, because you can control the two injectored based on boost, throttle AND RPM, which is much more than you can do w/ a FMU.
All the people that complain about it, really don't know it that good. Mostly everyone who has the FMAX kit loves it.

well i have the f-max kit on my 98 Honda accord (f23a1). I like the the kit but i did blow my engine. (TO MUCH BOOST ON STOCK ENGINE ABOUT 13PSI) but right now im rebuilding my bottom end (je 9:1 pistons and crower rods) i already did my top end (oversized valves port polished and turbo cam, copper head gasket)
what i would really like to do is get rid of the two injectors go wit HONDATA and bigger injectors but nobody in N.J does HONDATA yet.
but other then that the sestem runs great car had great top end power..
(you never lived till the rush of a turbo hit you)

Actually most of the people who complain about the Fmax kit do know what they are talking about. Like dustin and the fuel setup, everything he has said about the secondary injectors is true. A guy I know around here has a Prelude with the Fmax kit and with the MF2 and 13psi he was only pulling 14 second time slips on slicks for gods sake. Now he has Speedpro or somethin like that and is getting high 12's....the fuel setup IS the downfall for the Fmax.
PureTeg, your absolutely right. I shouldn't have said everyone. But the truth still is that the vast majority of the people that have the F-Max kit (at least that I've talked to) really love it. The guy you know is one of the first people I've heard of who didn't like the system.
I think its a really good system and the people I know who have it are making great power.
Also, just because you know one person who's car didn't take to the MF2, you shouldn't say that the fuel system is the downfall for F-Max. What if I listed all the people who've had problems with the FMU setup?

Well I don't know why, but preludes seem to have more problems with the MF2 then other hondas. If you do ask around, preludes always seem to run rich as hell as soon as vtec kicks in, which im guessing was the guy i know's problem. I'm sure with some tuning you could better results...but tuning can be expensive and some people don't have access to a good dyno tuner. I bet for every pissed off MF2 user, there are 5 pissed off FMU users, but an FMU is cheaper and a lot more people use em. The Fmax is a good kit, however I've heard too many sad stories about the MF2.....I would take FMU over MF2 anyday just because of how well I'm running with 310's and an 8:1 disk. It's all preference, and if you have the money standalone is by far the best option. Standalone and any turbo kit (Fmax, Rev, Drag) will give you the best results
My main reasons for getting the FMax kit were:
I didn't like the crude fuel setup of an FMU.
The MF2 looked good for low boost applications.
The quality was good (1 year warrenty on manifold)
And the current groupbuy price was GREAT.
If you look at the FMAX buy versus the DRAG buy, its not that much more expensive if you plan on upgrading the DRAG to better parts. If I got the drag kit, I would have gotten better guages, a better FMU, a better pump, and probably BTM. The only think I don't like about the F-Max kit is the BOV, its sounds horrible, but thats just preference.
For what I wanted, FMAX was by far the best deal.

the set-up i was running on my stock engine gave me mid to high 13 on a four door honda accord. that was with min tuning. so know if i go get my block back thats been resleaved with new piston connecting rods and newly built head id be good for low 12 at about 15+psi.
BUT like you all have said fuel tunning must be correct. so you figure i got my MSD for ignition, Acura 3.2 fuel pump AEM fuel rail and regulator, now if i can get my MF2 working the right way i should have no problem at all with the set-up
