Re: MSBC-1 innovative boost controller
The nlr unit is better yes, but it really depends on what you are looking for your boost controller to do. I personally use the msd boost controller and nlr alot and think they are both great units.
what are you looking for the boost controller to do? Are you looking for just a simple multi stage unit or something a little more in depth like what an nlr ams-1000 can do.

Re: MSBC-1 innovative boost controller
It's for 650 to 750hp turbo h22. I want something easy to use and It's not that complicated. I will be using the car on the streets more than track so I want something that I can adjust on the street without using a laptop and that's why I don't want to get the hondata boost solenoid.
I've seen the NLR-ams 500 for $400 and inlinepro has the MSBC-1 innovative used for $350
out of those two BC which of the two I can use switches for the different stage of boost or how do they work.
I'll be using drag radials most of the times .

Re: MSBC-1 innovative boost controller
First thing first, you do realize that the hondata system you can have 2 entirely different boost control setups off of a switch correct? I really do like the s300 boost control. I would use that.
If you are not going to use the hondata one I would go with the NLR 500.

"Boost may be fixed, or varied by gear, with two settings which allow for wet/dry, pump/race gas or street tire/slicks settings to be selected with an external switch."
Do you need more than 2 settings?

Re: MSBC-1 innovative boost controller
the way i look at it, the AMS-1000 is the last boost controller you will ever buy.
the ams-500 works very well, and is very simple...but if your already making 700hp i think the ams-1000 is the way to go.
for what its worth...i like the ams-1000 so much i even have one set up that i use just on the dyno.

We have 3 cars here in Ga running the MSBC. And we all love it. Its very easy to use and has 5 stages, and launch control also has ramping built in.
The nlr is only 2 stage i belive.
But if you got s300, i would use that one.
