Default Mounting FMIC...no brackets?

sup,
im in the process of mounting my precision medium FMIC...for those of you that run it did you guys cut your bumper support? im installing it ona 2000 si...

well, i dont have the tabs to keep it hung up...therefore i was thinking of welding it. the fmic is thin aluminum..my buddy said he knows someone that can weld aluminum.....
What should i do to mount it?

did you cut bumper support for precision medium....

weld some tabs on it and cut the support accordingly. i know this is my eg but you can see what it looks like.

isnt is hard to weld it due to the thin aluminum...?

any machine shop that knows how to tig weld should be able to handle it.

definitely get someone who is experienced with welding aluminum to make you some brackets and weld them on...welding aluminum requires an entirely different method of welding than steel and you use aluminum filler also

if you are familiar with TIG welding and have access to the equipment, then you could do it yourself if you like

then cut the bumper support to fit the intercooler properly

then you're good to go

the medium precision intercooler should come with threaded holes in the sides of the intercooler at the top. you can use those holes, and fab up some simple brackets that bolt to the front of your car.

I used 2 L brackets from home deput to mount it. Works just fine and just cut out the bumper support a lil

here is a pic but mine is not upside down just to give ya and idea
