actually those make a decent amount of noise, the trick to being quiet would be to get a bypass valve. You can hook up the 1g dsm in a circuit and that will hush it up. Just rout it back into the intake, like on factory FI cars

Votech make a BOV which is not to bad... if your boossting under 9 lbs its pretty quiet.. but the spool of a fresh turbo will give it away

If you want quiet...get a bosch bov. they aren't anything to look at, but I couldn't even hear mine when I didn't have the downpipe hooked up. Just a nice (swoosh) when you shift. They cost about $30 brand new, as well.

Every blow off valve should be quiet. If it is making a noise like a small chinese woman sneezing, it is too tightly closed, and needs to be open. All blow off valves should sound the same in theory, being that you shouldn't hear anything but an unobstructed rush of air.

Re: Most quiet BOV? (poison)
the new blitz blowoff with the filte attachment is super quiet. kind of a whuf, not a Psshht! I couldn't believe it was so quiet compares to my old Blitz (horn style)
BTW the new blitz filter is interchangeable with the old horn outlet. so if you fgot a friend who isn't using theirs....

HKS Racing Type 2 is SUPER quiet. I had that on my other gsr with 7 pounds and people on the outside couldnt hear anything. The SSQ is a different story now. People hear me a few blocks away now.

yeah, where are people getting those bosch bypass valves, autozone, pepboys, and kragens in my area said to get them at dealers. saab dealers sell them for 80 bucks. i have a standard hks bov, dont have a flange to put it in...the original owner said it sounded like a iron when steaming.

Another option is the "closed loop" method. Which I'm planning to do. I'm using the 1G DSM BOV and routhing the bov in conjunction with a rubber line back into the compressor filter inlet piping by welding on a pipe onto the turbo inlet pipe. That should quiet things down abit. Can somebody confirm if this method is called a closed loop system. Same thing is said about my wastegate dumptube which i'll dump into my downpipe to keep the sound down.
check out roadraceengineering.com to look for the 1G DSM bov i think it's 120.
