Default more AFC problems, help URGENT!!

Ok well we finally got everything back assembled in my car, including the afc v2 and new dsm injectors...

problem is now it wont save any of my settings when i shut off the ignition...also it wont idle the injectors and ive tried everything from -50 to -35% correction...

I'm really at a loss and dont know what to do, anyone have any ideas why it wont save my features, its all hooked up correctlly...

HELP

edit: also what is the pressure setting In and Out?

I have no experience with the v2 afc so maybe things are different.
It's losing power which makes it forget what the settings are, you prolly don't have it wired right. I didn't hear you say anything about a resistor box, i hope you have one on those injectors or you're gonna burn up your ecu.

yes it has a resistor box...thats not the problem..

the only thing i can come up with is that the power I have it connected to isnt a temporary power, its more like an accessory power...but its wired correctly

up again before i go to work...

I guess im just confused, because it should still save the settings no matter what even if the car is off...also i cant put in a password or anything...I'm so confused and pissed off lol

so close to getting it back on the road, and yet so far away..

edit: and the wiring is the exact same for the V1 and V2, i checked them both and went by the english one...HELP, this sucks!!!

i have the v2 afc running flawlessly. i hooked it up directly to the ecu harness as directed in the manual. maybe you should try that. i know cutting and tapping the ecu harness seems intimidating but that might fix your problem.

Hmm, not sure if that's true. I held the V-AFC in my car and it always kept the settings even if it was completely disconnected. If it won't idle with the injectors, I'm wondering if maybe it's not hooked up 100% correct?

Only thing I can think of.

who's "we..."? a shop..? a friend..?

if the settings aren't saved, i'm guessing it's all the in the wiring-which may be incorrect... i had a similar thing happen when i installed my headunit a long time ago... it wouldn't save the time or the radio presets..!

edit: also what is the pressure setting In and Out?
if that's the case, maybe you should have someone else with experience take a look at the installation...

yeah im going to rewire everything today, hopefully that will solve the problem...but i have a feeling i'll end up putting it right back to the way it is lol...

i was just checking to make sure i have the correct values, i have experience with a safc v1, but for some reason this new one is giving me problems...thanks tho

Old skool AFC holds the tune in internal memory. You can stick it on a shelf for a couple weeks, then plug it in and power it up and the old settings are still there.

I'll take a wild and probably entirely correct guess and say either the internal battery that holds the memory or the non-volatile RAM (RAM chip with battery built in, same thing) is faulty. Time to see about a warranty.

I think you might be right about the internal memory...I got it from Leo so, hopefully something can be done about it..

update: i resoldered the whole afc...still didnt save anything...so for temporary purposes i added a wire off the power (red) on the afc to a accessory ignition wire so it will stay on at all times and keep my features...

still wouldnt fire up though, its got spark and seems to turn over, battery is good also...kinda stuck on what it could be...any help?

I agree. You should try to get it replaced.
