Default Missing Link Question

Hey guys. I havn't posted on here in a while but I have a question and need it answered kinda quick. I have the Greddy turbo kit on my car. I always see the Drag III kit advertised from like Import Parts w/the missing link piece. Will this also work on my car as well. My car runs rich (better than running lean right ) and I can't stand the CEL. Can I use this on my car as well. Let me know ASAP because I if so, I am ordering it. Also, any good or bad things to say about it?

Yeah the missing link fits between the MAP sensor and the throttle body, it keeps the MAP from reading boost and setting off that annoying as hell CEL!!!

Well, it depends on what is causing the CEL. If it is just because the MAP is seeing boost then yes. But my guess is that it is not that. Tell me more information on your setup and symptoms, and then maybe I can help you more.

Ok, with the Greddy kit, when you put a fuel pump in, the CEL comes on because it is running to rich. Obviously, I am not about to run the turbo w/o a fuel pump, if anyone does that, tell me and I will come beat your azz. Anyway, so my CEL comes on because of it running to rich. It doesn't kick into limp mode, I have made sure on a number of occasions. Think it will help?

Well I do not see how it is not in limp mode, CEL puts it in limp mode. Too rich means you do not need a check valve, you need to lower the fuel pressure perhaps.

Trust me, it isn't in limp mode. I drove a car in limp mode. I still have the 8K red line, VTEC still engauges.

Wow, well........hmm......... is there any way for you to lower the fuel? If you do not have an adustable FPR, I suggest getting one and lowering the fuel pressure. Do you have upgraded injectors perhaps?

No FPR yet, I have an STR fuel rail, not on yet because I was waiting to get a FPR. I have 310cc injectors.

Ok, that is why you are running too rich. With the FPR, you will have to turn the pressure down. Other than that, you'll need a V-AFC to take more fuel out and tune it better.
