missing link Q's...???
Do i have to have one of these for sure? What happens if i dont other then a CEL? I have a h22a4 with usdm ecu. Its in my 95 hatchback, but i know the motor is out of a 98 thats all that i know. Do i have to have one of these regardles or can you get by without? Ive seen map sensor relocators that seem cheaper do those do the same thing? Or whats best route to go? Help me understand this device id appreciate it thanks.

u will need 1 if you are running an fmu.
reason why you need it is to prevent the map sensor from see boost. when the ecu senses boost, it gives off a cel right away and puts it in to limp mode, which makes it diff. to drive at times. the motor is or acts like its gunna die and you have no response from them motor untill you step on the gas more. but then that just waste more gas and ur in boost when the ecu does let the car have gas.
hope that explains a little better on why u need a map bypass, any check valve would do too.

Re: (gdrum)
if you run boost at all you will need it. it just bleeds the boost off so the map sensor does not see it. the only way you wouldn't need one is if you're running a stand alone ems.
