Missing link necessary?
hey guys. Ive got my whole revhard setup and was going have it installed tomrrow. However I don't have a missing link... I was wondering if this would pose a problem. I will only be running 7 psi, but I wanted to check if a missing link HAS to be installed. I was going to order one this weekend and put it in next week so I would only be running without one for about 4 days. I just wanted to get the turbo on this weekend because i can't do it in the week between school and work. Any help is appreciated.
No thats not what i meant.i meant crome, uberdata, hondata, aem etc. that type of fuel management. Those programs are meant to read boost ,yer stock ecu isnt.Thats why u use a missing link to trick yer stock ecu so it doesnt read boost. If yer stock ecu reads boost it will go into lymph mode and through a map sensor code.So the to answer yer question, yes get a missing link u need it.
just go to a local petsmart or wherever sells oneway checkvalves... for every one checkvalve you can prevent up to 2 pounds of boost from getting to the map sensor... my friend has 4 of these inline to his map sensor and never has map senser problems

Alright. Would I be able to drive the car for less than a week until the missing link gets in the mail or would I be risking blowing my motor or something?

Thanks for the chuckle.

i ran my turbo on my GSR without it for a couple of weeks i've even had street races... i heard not a good idea, YEAH when you start to boost in the 4-5 lbs the CEL will come on ...try not to boost to high because your ECU will throw a CEL. drive normal and it'll be fine, after the missing link i had no problem... except for my leaning out, which is a different problem ....
w/o it you will get CEL after a few pounds of boost.. i wouldnt drive it unless you really have to. it should be fine for a few days just go easy on it. ebay
OK. Well from what I'm hearing, it'll be OK for a lil while (I'll only be driving without it for about 4-5 days), so I'll just go easy on it until I get it in. Thanks for all the help.

No, spiel. Like "Damn it! I spieled my beer!"
You'll be fine without your missing link as long as you don't try to push it hard. Stay out of boost and you'll be fine.
