Default Meth Kit or E85

I am putting my ride together which is built gsr 2.0 sleeved and i have a 6265 on the car right now... I was going to go run E85 on high boost.. and stick to 93 pump gas on wastegate spring.. But I was thinking about just getting a meth kit and be done or what.. I know that the E85 needs more fuel(injector size ).. but i am wondering what do you guys think.. Trying to make as much power as I can with the turbo that i have.. The car is not a daily driver.. but I only drive it on the street though..

Why not use both?

Water/meth will be cheaper in the long run, plus you don't have to go looking for fuel and your mileage won't suffer.

im doing a rebuild on my current setup which is pretty much identical... 2.0 sleeved gsr block, 6265 turbo... blah blah blah

ive done tons of research on this question and the increased octane level, cooling, and efficiency of e85 is far superior than any methanol injection setup...

i dont know what your power goals are but this fuel is the new hot topic...

The true octane level of E85 differs from 95-105 depending where it's from(each station differs, so it makes it uneven). Water/meth injection has the same cooling capabilities as E85. If you got E85 really close to you then it's easy to get to, but there are very few places around that have it. You will also get alot less mileage with E85. Just my $0.02, they are basically even just up to the person to decide.

the biggest thing for me is i can get out of my car after driving it without getting smacked by my wife for trying to hug her because i smell like $hit (e85 does NOT stink)

its available to me so it is beneficial for me

if i switch to e85 can i get an obama tax credit?

i have run both and far prefer running e85 (if you have it readily available). there is always a chance the meth with fail and when it does you better be ready for it. yes, there are "failsafes" but tehre is always that remote chance something is going to go wrong. plus e85 smells good burned

If your trying to max out a 6265 on E85 your going to need quite the fuel system, its bad *** stuff but costly up front but it beats having to spend $80 for a 5gal can of gas when you want to race and you have a **** ton of power on tap for the street if you decided you want to destroy a fresh set of tires in 150mi.

Personally I dont like meth injection (unless its a multi nozzle setup). How do you know each cylinder is getting its share of Meth? If something goes wrong the results could be very bad.

they do make systems with individual nozzles for each runner

+1
Meth is something else that could go wrong. Solenoid doesnt open or you run the tank dry and you are f'ed. Ethanol is awesome stuff man. Open downpipe + 93 on the street = my eyes burning like a bitch! Ethanol runs much cooler also. When I switched to e85 I could immediatly tell a difference in how the car felt. It ran so much smoother. Granted alot of it was tune, but the temps were much cooler. Im assuming you have at least 1000cc injectors? it will take at 1600s to max out that 6265.

Going to e85 here, I am running same turbo but on a different motor.

As stated above, you need a lot of fuel if you plan to lean on the 6265 with corn fuel. I am in the process or swapping out from a walbro/ 044 inline combo and ID1000's, was running on 112 leaded gas make just over 600 to the tire. Now going to dual 044's and ID1600's or ID2000's to accomidate a bit more power plus the added fueling required for e85.

My option would be go e85, but be prepared for a good bit of cost out of pocket up front for the fuel system you will need to max out a 6265.

Good stuff.. but i am going to get the dual pump set up.. and then use the new deatschwerks e85 type pump.. check it out...

http://www.deatschwerks.com/fuel-pum...tank-fuel-pump

And try to get the FIC injetors.. cause they are the same as id's.. cause bosch makes all the id's and fic's.. the only difference is the color.. lol.. Talked people at bosch my self.. lol.. they are cheaper...
