metal on the drain plug...
well changed the oil tonight after finally putting the repaired 6765 back on. checked my magnetic drain plug and found this on the end with a fair amount of gunk...
i have not rebuilt a shortblock before, so i was looking to see if anyone can identify what these possibly are? this is a sleeved ls block with gsr crank, ctr pistons and eagle rods. i also took some pics of the vtec solenoid since metal will typically find its way through there. not much in the screen, but a fair amount of shavings had gathered in the bottom of the solenoid.

Re: metal on the drain plug...
This crazy cause I Just pulled my pan on my lsvtec the other day and found a really darn simalar peice in my oil pickup....yours looks a little thicker then the piece I found but they both share the simalar round raduis.
I'm thinkin its a part of my turbo cause it failed recenlty. Which could be the case with you too if ur turbo failed but I'm gona sit back see what others have to say.

its kinda hard to tell but it looks like a valve spring retainer. what valve train are you running? pop off the valve cover and look for damage. you might have to go deeper to see

Like we said in the drag racing forum, I bet its from your center cartriage when your turbo broke. Check the picture in your other thread, call precision and ask them.
