Default May buy JRSC! Pros & Cons?

thinking of buy a JRSC, did a search on the topic. I just want to know what the PROS and CONS of these supershargers. What problems people have had with them, what to look for when buy a used SC. What compression to run with a Built bottom end? and what kind of 1/4 times it will make? What RPM you can spin it to?
thanks again

Pros:
Instant boost
Simple system
Big gains in low end torque
Reliable since it's not easy to get greedy and up the boost
CARB legal
Awesome torque curve when properly tuned
Good installation instructions

Cons:
Lack of a readily available intercooler
Runs hot as h3ll
Upping the boost is a pain in the butt
Supplied fuel management sucks <-- understatement

I had one on my 2000 Civic Si and I put A LOT of time, effort, and money into that thing. In the end, it ran really well.

If I had it to do over again though, I would not (and will not) choose a JRSC. It's a great kit for a forced induction first-timer and if you want a simple and reliable kit, but there are too many limitations, IMO.

the fact is, non-intercooled, as the boost increases, the heat greatly increases. the heat temps at 6psi are almost equal to that of a turbo & intercooled car at 7-8psi. (Slightly hotter by 10 degrees or so) BUT as boost goes up on the JRSC, heat goes WAAAY UP! For the turbo car, heat goes up a lil bit. power and performance compared to a GOOD and WELL TUNED turbo at same psi is lower. Also the JRSC goes through belts. However, as said the JRSC is reliable and I personally like it. Its more of a mod for older people or just people who want more power out of their car with lil hassle.

Here's a good rule of thumb.

If you want 12 second 1/4mile times, go turbo.
If you want a good street/autoX car that will pull low 14's/high 13's, and have instant power, then go jrsc.

then add a 30 shot of nitrous and hit those 12's.

Ummm...no. The fact is that even at 6psi, the JRSC gets the intake hot enough to boil water. This datalog is at 6 psi. I saw the temp go as high as 208.

I just ran consistent 13.4's all night (with one 13.6 exception).

I like my JRSC. I've been beating it for almost 3 years now and nothing has gone wrong.

However, everything else in this thread so far is also true.

well my friend ran his turbo & intercooled miata with a JRSC'd non-intercooled miata and the temps were about the same after a hard run. last i checked a turbo's intake temps were far from cool...
