Max Power on stock Sleeves w/ E85
I know there is probably a thread discussing this but I can't find the information I'm seeking. I won't go into deep detail but I'll give the Cliff's Notes, My hatch has a B18B w/ wiseco Pistons, Eagle rods, and tuned on an AEM EMS. 500 HP is what I've heard the max power on stock sleeves is, but thats always been w/ gasoline. Can they handle more under E85 Boost conditions? What about engine life?
regurdless of fuel used 500whp is the max safe whp range wih stock sleeves with a good tuner that knws what there doing. Stock sleeves are no at all forgiving. you can push them and make more power but they wont hold up for long. i think the highest hp made on stock sleeves was 700ish whp raneg but they cracked after a few passes at the track
yeah I read his thread on that car. It made quiet a few passes before cracking a sleeve but I wanna drive this car daily if I choose to so I was thinking last night I'd settle for 450 and turn it up at the track to maybe 500
I personally feel that 450hp is still a little much on stock sleeves if your looking for reliability, especially on a daily driver.... many have cracked stock sleeves at that power level for whatever reason.

This is very true, once you sleeve your block it is a whole different ball game you would be able to run more power then you will no what to do with.
I have a closed deck sleeved GSR block, I made 480WHP on 17psi, I also run AC and Power Steering as well. I daily drive this car, the thing is with my last setup and bigger turbo I was making over 600WHP, I have put around 20000 miles on the block since it has been built and I had my car leaked tested before my last dyno appointment about 3 weeks ago and it was less then 3% on all cylinders.
I would stick to 400 for now, save up, buy a spare b18b and sleeve it. You don't want to push you motor thinking well if it blows I will just buy another block. Sometimes when a block blows it can take everything out like you head and even turbo, so play it safe.
The only thing running E85 will do for you, is allow you to up the boost like you would on race gas, but it won't help strenghen your sleeves.

Very poor example, for one this car you mention is not a daily driver and I quote Jeff Evans "I wouldnt imagine the sleeves lasting for tons of passes"
What few passes the car has made, were definately not at 730hp as the owner stated they were all pretty much "troubleshooting passes"

We made 677@32psi on my Stock Sleeved LS/VTEC 81.5mm motor running pump E85, I daily the car and have had no issues. The setup is the same as the OP's, so you will be fine making 500whp as long as the tuner knows what they are doing.
