Manual Boost Controller Install Problem - overboost problem
I installed a TurboSmart Dual Stage MBC last night but I am not happy with it. I am only trying to use the low boost setting at this time.
I hooked the tee into the line coming from the turbo to the side port on my TiAL 40mm wastegate. The arrow points towards the wastegate. I have a .5 bar wastegate spring and prior to the MBC I ran a solid 7psi ALL the time.
With the controller dial turned all the way to minimum I get 10psi from about 4000rpm up to my vtec crossover at 4900rpm. The boost then falls to a solid 7psi to redline. If I turn the dial I get 12psi until vtec then it drops to 8psi to redline.
I am running a gt30r with a full-race manifold on a stock gsr engine.
What is going on? What am I doing wrong?

I run a Turbo XS DSBC but I think that the Turbosmart is the same thing or almost.... well I just installed the boost controler like 2 weeks ago but I will adjust it tonight. I hope it will work.
I blocked the line that was coming from the turbo to the wastegate ( I was running a EBC ). Now the side port of the wastegate is hooked to the bottom of the b.c. and the side of the b.c is hooked to the manifold to get boost pressure.
OR maybe your not adjusting the good screw... look at one of my old topic https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1753040
mmh finally the two boost controler are not the same at all... here is the instruction. You cant really go wrong http://www.turbosmart.com.au/index.php?id=43

Re: (yellowturbo)
I hooked up a regular bleeder valve type BC (HKS VBC) and it works perfectly.
My problem has to be associated with the TurboSmart controller restricting boost to the wastegate to help spool. Is there any specific size or length of vacuum hose I should be using?
