Default Main bearing clearence question.

So i finished measuring my crank with a micrometer and then measuring the block and cap with the bearings inside and the measurements i came up with were (starting from oil pan and working to the flywheel) .0024, .0023, .0022, .0022., and .0018, so what do yall think, i think the .0024 is a little big and the .0018 is a little tight, but do yall think these clearances will be fine on a high hp, high boost setup? This is with "standard" size bearings in a b18c1.

Did you use a bore micrometer for the ID of the journals? Those will give you the most accurate readings. If not, you can always use plasti-gage which is going to give you a difference of about .0002"-.00045" compared to using a bore micrometer. Usually we will shoot for clearances of .0015"-.0020" depending on the set-up. .0024" is way to loose for my liking. Also, the standard ACL's are based on the OEM Green bearing.

i used a dial bore guage, and i was worried these were a little on the loose side, but being new bearings i didnt want to go spend even more money on bearings now. I guess if anyone can link me to the chart that tells you how thick honda bearings are that would be great. thanks in advanced.

Those clearance are actually fine. Specially if you're going for the high 650+ whp. the .0018 is a little on the tight side. Try and see if you can match that with the rest of the clearance like .0022-.0023

Yes, they're all the same except # 3 is usually a little looser..

I shoot for .0015 all the way accross with mixing bearing colors to get what I need..
