Default lsvtec turbo....HELP

or so i just finished my motor swap...well kinda at least. the setup is a 95 b18b with a 99 b16b2 head, and a greddy turbo kit 18g. we started the motor up and it started backfiring a lot...you could hear it inside the manifold, you could also smell alot of fuel. im running an fmu so i turned that down a bit. what could cause this problem?? also the downpipe was missing one bolt

p.s. we were pulling the motor out and bent the waste gate vacume hose...i bet it back as far as i could without breaking it....then jb welded the holes. i know this changes how the motor runs

thanks for any good information, and your time guys

you JB Welded a vaccuum hose?? Aren't they made of rubber?? Also, the FMU could be causing a lot of the problems since they're total piles of ****

so you JB welded a hole on the wastegate?

I would get rid of the FMU to start with and then start trouble shooting
