Not that anyone really cares, but I got my flat tops, rods and arp studs in over the weekend.
Next weekend, putting on crower springs/retainers and new valve seals
Check out that dome!
Neat rust!
(stud washers and gasket are just there so I didnt lose anything)
Yes, engine is in my bedroom

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
Hi iam currently building a Turbo LS, I have a few questions what kind of oil pump and water pump should i use stock or vtec. The block is going to be built and pushing about 15 to 18 pounds. Also the stock Valvetrain should be fine or i should step up to valve springs and rettainers. Thanks

Unless youre going ls vtec, just use the ls pumps. I dont even really see the need for a vtec oil pump...
Valvetrain will be fine stock, unless you run large cams or raise the limit.
You will probably want to use arp head studs though

There's a very good write up on Team-Integra that explains the need for a vtec fuel/oil pump is only needed if revving past like 8500 rpm

Re: (zerovandez)
i was shifting 7600 rpm consistantly daily, the reason why i took it there cause i was hitting the rev limiter at 7200 in 4th gear so i bumped it to 7600,,,i would recomend changing rod bolts on stock rods if you plan on 7600 rpm shifts, in time you will spin a bearing

I like the intake for your turbo.. care to get more pics of it? I need to figure out how to run a filter to my turbo and i might just copy your idea.

Re: (quikcivic)
gsr oil pump is nice and stock ls water pump will work fine up to 7200rpm. after 7200 it cavitates the coolant pretty badly and will overheat your motor. i switched to a gsr pump for that reason when i revved to 7 it would be fine when i reved to 8k it would bring my water temp to 250 like nothing.

Well motor mouth... quit strokin' your rods and show us the pictures!!

Re: (quikcivic)
Vtec oil pumpwill work on LS crank. If you choose to go with a vtec water pump then your going to need a GSR timing belt. http://www.acuraparts247.com is pretty cheap and fast shipping on all integra parts

its actually just 3" air dryer hose....you can pick it up at home depot for like $4 lol. I wound up taking a scrap 3" muffler pipe and cutting about 4" of it off. I used that to bolt the filter to and then the hose to where they meet. Ill get some more pics of it in a little bit
