Ok so i have had this motor in my delsol for over 7-8months now no problem always runnning good until frankly my alternator went bad and i had to stumble home running the battery to death right when i got in the driveway. Got a new alternator back on felt fine no problems i was a happy camper i even hit it all the way to 8.5!! Came home let her sit over night did nothing else to the car. Next day i went out to the store came back just wanted alil vtec so i let her loose creat boost from 1-2 missed 3rd..... dam then tried again and hey no vtec and a rev limiter hit at 5.5k : ( i was alil like dam what happened all the boost was there but no vtec. "so spool spool then 5grand nothing and the rev limiter". wtf! I have even took it up to a shop and they still cant find the problem! I have to get the car ready by friday because i was trading it for another car and now this happens!! She only throws a chek engine once that day even when i tried again there wasnt one?? Can any one help i will add anything you need for answers heres my specs.

I do know that the spark plugs could use a change and what i though was weird that the shop told me the timing would jump from 16 degrees down to 2 degrees were vtec should be?? WTF!!! this all happened over night????

first.
take a wire. run it from your positive battery terminal, and touch it to the vtec solenoid wire.
you should here it click. do this so you know it is still functioning correctly.
also, is ur speedo working?, vtec is directly linked to the vss.
check that and let us know.
i do believe there is a thread on here with a whole check list for vtec engagement (proper oil level, etc)

Thanks alot for your fast reply. She did get a new speedo put in today but i have to wait till i get the car back tomorrow to chek and see if anything has changed. and also to chek the solenoid. I will post tmrw on what i found out

Ok so got it back from the shop and it seems my boost controller was f*&king up. it had some loose wires or something because it wasnt getting a perfect 12 volt signal. so i brought it back fiddled with the wires and checked all the signals. strangley all were 12 v??? and the grounds were correct to?? so went out and hit it. felt beautiful. she ran fine. around 7500 or 8000 i felt abit of hp loss like she wanted to slow down it was weird but besides that ran fine. If you got an answer to the small loss of power please let me knw.

donno. maybe your rings are a lil shot. that'd explain power lose up on top.
